Little Known Spaghetti Western Actor ~ Luciano Doria

Luciano Doria was an Italian character actor not to be confused with the director of the same name. Our Doria was born in Italy sometime in 1923 he worked extensively in the Italian film industry, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s. While not a leading man, he was a prolific character actor, contributing to a wide range of films, especially within Spaghetti Westerns and crime genres.

Little is known about the man as even the IMDb only credits him in eight films. I have credits for him in fourteen Spaghetti westerns alone so he must have been in many more with no credits on his resume. Doria was even the double for Richard Burton in 1963’s “Cleopatra”.

Luciano Doria appeared in fourteen Spaghetti westerns: “Arizona Colt” (The Man from Nowhere) as a stagecoach guard in 1966, “Crepa tue… che vivo io!” (Bandidos) as a Kane henchman and “Killer Kid” as Sergeant Mulligan, “Il momento di uccidere” (The Moment to Kill) as a Forrester henchman, “Pecos è qui: prega e muori” (Pecos Cleans Up) as an El Supremo henchman, “Un poker di pistole” (Poker with Pistols) as a Masters henchman, “Sei bounty killers peruna strage” (Six Bounty Killers for a Massacre) as a Ferguson henchman, “I lunghi giorni dell’odio” (This Man Can’t Die) as a Graham henchman and “Oggi a me… domani a te!” (Today We Kill… Tomorrow We Die!) as a prison sergeant all in 1967, “Ed ora… raccomand l’anima a Dio!” (And Now… Make Your Peace with God) as a doctor “T’ammazzo… raccomandati a Dio” (Dead for a Dollar) as a sheriff and “Straniero… fatti il segno della croce!” (Stranger Say Your Prayers) as Doc Ferguson all in 1968.
