Ion Doruțiu is/was a Romanian actor and production manager best known for his roles in classic 1970s and 1980s Romanian cinema. His prominent filmography includes appearances in epics and thrillers such as “Mihai Viteazul” (1970), “Nemuritorii” (1974), and “Dacii” (1967).Beyond these historical epics, his acting credits also include the international Western production “Sing, Cowboy, Sing” (1981). His work extends behind the camera as well, where he has served as a production manager on projects like “Viraj periculos” (1983). In all Ion was involved in eleven films as a production manager between 1973 and 2003, a production assistant on four films during this period and acted in nine films between 1966 and 1996.
Ion Dorutiu was in one Euro-western, “Sing, Cowboy, Sing as the deputy sheriff in 1980 and the Euro-western “Lockruf des Goldes” (Burning Daylight) as Big Bill in 1975.
