The work that has the towns of Tabernas as protagonists will be presented at the Andalusian Center of Photography (CAF) this coming Tuesday, July 7 at 7 p.m.

The photographer from Almeria, Chema Artero, publishes the book Clic Clic Bang Bang (Soldesol), a photographic project developed over several years that documents the imaginary of the Far West that survives in Tabernas and its towns, especially in MiniHollywood-Oasys.

The result of this cinematographic visual hunt is 'Clic Clic Bang Bang', a dazzling photobook published by the Soldesol label that immerses itself fully in the imaginary of the Wild West that still survives in the towns of the province. Through its pages, Artero proposes a nostalgic and certainly also mischievous journey through the sets of Tabernas, paying special attention to corners as iconic and full of legend as MiniHollywood. This project, developed with the patience and art of a trilero for several years, documents the persistence of a collective fantasy that has marked the cultural identity with which Almería is known.

The book has a prologue by Evaristo Martínez, who provides a contextual look at the project and its relationship with the cinematographic legacy of Almeria. "Chema Artero shoots his camera at the West of India, the one we have in this peninsular corner called Almeria. He is not interested in exploring the landscape in depth, nor in analysing the architecture of the villages built in Tabernas for the filming of hundreds of titles of the genre, mostly belonging to the 'spaghetti western', but to fix his gaze on what the sets do not always show, at that point where lies and truth converge. the costume and the meat," writes the journalist, who specializes in film information.

The author will present his work at the Andalusian Center of Photography (CAF) on July 7 at 7 p.m. During the event, the audiovisual piece Clic Clic Bang Bang, directed by Juanfran Martínez and conceived as a cinematographic prologue that introduces the viewer to the origin and imaginary of the project, will be premiered

The photobook 'Click Click Bang Bang' brings together a selection of images made entirely in black and white. It is published by the Soldesol label in hardcover, in 21 × 26 cm format and has 172 pages.
