Wolfgang Roloff was born in Bremen, Theuringen, Germany on March 10, 1930. In Tontechniker 1954, he was a member of the Valentine Trio, which included Valerie Hueck and Wolfgang "Eddy" Börner. The trio took part in the film “On every finger”. After Hueck's exit, Roloff and Börner continued to work as a duo. Both recorded several singles from 1959 under the stage name 'Bob & Eddy'. In the following years more singles were released with Roloff, partly under his real name, but also with Rolf Simson as 'The Colorados' and as 'The Blizzards' with Kai Warner, James Last's brother.
Instrumental recordings were made using various names. In 1963, the first solo recording followed. A cover version of the American standard “Oh My Darling, Clementine”, was created, which was released as “Oh My Darling Caroline” under the stage name "Ronny". The title lasted for several weeks on the charts.
Further successes followed in the late 1960s before Roloff retreated from the stage in the 1970s. He then focused on composing and producing. During this time, titles were created with Mel Jersey and the child star Heintje, for whom he wrote some titles such as “I Build You a Castle”, “Snowdrop in February” and “Love Laughing Sun Again”.
Ronny sang songs in two Euro-westerns. In “$5,000 on One Ace” (1964) he sings “Kein Gold am Blue River” and in “Black Eagle of Santa Fe”(1965) he appears as a singing cowboy and sings “Kenn ein Land”.
Wolfgang “Ronny” Roloff died in Bremen on August 18, 2011 at the age of 81
