Italian Production Designer, Set Dresser Egidio Spugnini
died in Urbania, Pesaro e Urbino, Italy on December 27, 2024. He was 79. His
collaborations include one with Elio Petri in "Investigation of a Citizen Above
Suspicion", a film that in 1971 won the Oscar for best foreign film. In
2017 he was awarded the honor of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
His bond with the Marche region is strong, and in particular with his Urbania. Spugnini
was involved in two Spaghetti westerns, “Death Played the Flute” in 1972 as a production
designer and “Brothers Blue” in 1973 as a set dresser.
