We’re still a bit away from the premiere of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3, which won’t premiere until 2025. But with Season 2 in the books (no pun on The Book of Carol) with tonight’s episode, AMC dropped a first look at Daryl Dixon Season 3, which is currently in production in Spain.
In the quick 30 seconds of footage, we see Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride making their way through various environs: a desert as we once again ride with Norman Reedus; a burning effigy with joyous celebrants dancing around it; and perhaps scariest of all, an extremely bedraggled Stephen Merchant, who is joining the cast in the next season.
It also, based on the music and the light cowboy/Western theme perhaps is aping some of the tropes of Spaghetti Westerns, aka the sorts of Western movies filmed around Spain and Italy in the 1960s… Most notably by Sergio Leone.
As mentioned above, Season 3 is currently filming in Madrid, along with location shooting in Galicia, Aragón, Catalonia, and Valencia regions. How does that link up with — spoilers past this point — the end of Daryl Dixon Season 2, where Carol and Daryl headed through the Chunnel to England? TBD.
What we do know per PR provided by AMC is that “Season three will follow Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.”
Joining Reedus and McBride in the cast are Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, and Alexandra Masangkay as series regulars. In addition, Candela Saitta, Hugo Arbués, Greta Fernández, Gonzalo Bouza, Hada Nieto, Yassmine Othman, Cuco Usín, and Merchant, as well as others TBA will join, too.
You can watch the teaser, below. No Season 3 premiere
date is known at this time, but we’ve got some educated speculation if you want
to check that out.
