We continue to our search for filming locations for the
1970 film “Adios, Sabata”. After the duel which Sabata shoots and kills the
Murdock Brothers in a duel he is approached by Señor Ocaño and offered a sum of
money to steal the gold of Colonel Skimmel for the revolution. He accepts the
offer and is given a pouch containing the agreed upon cash. When Ocaño and his
two associates leave he spots Juanito who asks to accompany Sabata on his mission.
Sabata flips the pouch to him and tells him to give it to Father Mike and tell him the Murdock Brothers have met their
just rewards. Then another face appears that of Ballantine a refined painter who also offers to help Sabata as he
has an in with Skimmel as he is presently painting the colonel’s portrait.
This scene takes place in the familiar Spanish location
of Las Salinillas, Spain where many Spaghetti westerns were shot including “The
Ugly Ones”, “Death Rides a Horse”, “The White, the Yellow, the Black” and “The
Deserter”.
