In a quest to settle the New World, early Mennonite pioneers set out too late in the year. They reach their claim at the edge of the known universe during the dead of the season. A land baron (the 'GENERAL') has set his sights on the same track of land and has employed the evil TASSO to rid it of the settlers. In a last ditch effort, the settlers send for help, and get more than they bargained for.
