Remembering Conny Carstennsen

Conny Carstennsen was born Friedrich Wirth on December 8, 1888 in Colmar, Alsace, Germany. He took the alias Conny Carstennsen as an actor and was active from 1919 to 1921 appearing in two Euro-westerns: “Die Rache der Banditen” (1919) and “Red Bull, the Last Apache” (1920). He then became a director and production manager best remembered for “Jud Süß” (1940), “The Golden City” and “Der große König” (both 1942). His career in the industry continued until 1955. He was the production manager on the Euro-western: “Jonny Saves Nebrador” starring Hans Albers in 1953. Conny died on June 14, 1957 in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany.
