Continuing our search for filming locations for
“Shalako”. After the attack on the fort, Shalako leads the survivors of the
hunting party into the desert and away from the Indians. Bosky Fulton and his
men have taken the coach and Lady Dagget and are heading for Mexico. Following
the stage tracks Shalako sees dust behind the group and suspects the Indians
are on their trail. He has the party hide behind some large boulders and covers
their tracks. Six Indians ride down the road in pursuit of the coach. Baron Von
Hallstatt starts to raise his rifle and in an attempt to shoot them Shalako
puts a knife to his throat and makes him stop. After they pass the Baron is
indignant that Shalako stopped him as there were only a handful of Indians.
Shalako says what about those and points to the hillside above them. A dozen or
more Indians ride by on the ridge.
This scene takes place in Rambla de Lanujar which has
been used in dozens of films over the years.
