RIP James Tarwater



  Character actor James 'Jim' Tarwater died in Taos, New Mexico on March 22, 2012. He was 59 years-old. Born James Tuttle Tarwater in Ft. Worth, Texas on July 3, 1952. He worked in Los Angeles before moving to New Mexico where he settled in Taos. He became active in film work as a character actor with his first appearance in Terence Hill's television series "Lucky Luke" (1990-1991). Jim also appeared in the "Lucky Luke" film which was taken from several of the TVs episodes where he was seen as a card player. Jim also appeared in such western films as TV's "Brotherhood of the Gun" (1991), Ron Howard's "The Missing" (2003) and "Appaloosa" (2008) as Chalk. A memorial service will be conducted in Midland, New Mexico on April 5th.

  1. Jim was a good and fine human being. He grew up here in Midland, Texas, and was warm, friendly, popular, and enjoyed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Godspeed Jim. You are gone much too soon. Your great smile and laughter will always be missed.

  2. Jimmy T as a friend and business associate in the oil business in Denver in the early 80's. Full of spirit and not the least bit conventional, he chased his calling and made success of it. See you on the other side Jim!
