The Far West returns to the province of Latina, in a version inspired by the 'spaghetti western' genre, inside a real village, complete with a saloon, bank, emporium, church and twenty other structures that make up the town of Lone Town, ready to welcome Italian and foreign citizens, about 200 in total, who will populate the village from 8 to 10 May 2026 for the largest event in Italy.
'COLT - Chronicles of Lone Town', is a western-themed live action role-playing game in Italy, which after the success of past editions returns in its new edition "The Ecstasy of Gold", a tribute to the immortal legacy of Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone. The story will begin from the end of the previous event, which ended with the discovery of a gold mine inside the village.
Three days in the heart of legend
Conceived by Mauro Canavese of the Spaghetti LARP APS cultural association, in collaboration with director Giovanni Bufalini, COLT is a unique event of its kind, which blends historical re-enactment, cinema and interactive theater. In fact, the participants do not limit themselves to attending a show, on the contrary they inhabit it and experience it directly, because they are themselves part of the story that gives life to the event, making the player the real protagonist. For three days, participants will take on the role of gunslingers, femmes fatales, sheriffs, preachers with a dark past, storytellers, swindlers or simple citizens of Lone Town, an imaginary city located on the border between Arizona and Mexico, in the heart of an America torn apart by the consequences of the Civil War. The plots evolve in real time, destinies intertwine and each choice brings with it its own consequences and relative changes in history. The location is Meatfield Town, in Aprilia, it is a western village of over 4,000 square meters, designed by Tiziano Carnevale, the largest and most detailed themed place in Italy. Over twenty walkable structures, from the saloon to the prison, from the church to the armory, all reconstructed in the smallest detail to offer a total immersion in the aesthetics of Italian western cinema.
An international partnership: Ultime Western®™ makes history
The main novelty of this edition is the official partnership with Ultime Western®™ and The Ultime Western Universe®™, the legendary event of the genre that has taken place on the original scenic sets in Spain since 2008, locations made iconic on the big screen by Sergio Leone. A union, the one between Spaghetti LARP APS and Laurent Bertin, creator of Ultime Western®™, which connects people who share the same passions and goals: to bring back to life the myth of the spaghetti western and the Far West, not as spectators, but as authentic protagonists. Ultime Western®™ takes its players to the original deserted cinematic landscapes, frontier towns and Mexican villages to rewrite the history of the American West between 1860 and 1900. This collaboration builds a bridge between Italy, Spain and France, uniting the European communities of the LARP western under the same sky of golden stars and gunpowder.
Cinema and LARP: the Italian western returns to the big screen
The development of "Save the McCoy Skin", a feature film by Giovanni Bufalini that is intertwined with the stories of Lone Town, continues. Born among those same buildings, costumes and faces that give life to the story of Joe McCoy, a man on the run from the fearsome Moore gang, the film draws on the authentic atmosphere that only a location like Meatfield Town is able to offer. Concrete proof that the Italian western is not simple nostalgia, but a living genre, still capable of generating new stories.

Roberto Recchioni, screenwriter, illustrator, comic book author, film critic and digital influencer, created the poster for the next edition of the event. Authenticity down to the last shot

How to join COLT
No previous experience in live action roleplay, no acting skills, and no expensive equipment is required. All you need is the desire to inhabit a story. The Spaghetti LARP APS team accompanies each player in character creation and integration into the narrative. Tickets include dinner on Friday and Saturday; the in-game Saloon is available for meals for the duration of the event.
