Reed Randolph de Rouen was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on June 10, 1917. As Reed De Rouen, he was an American actor and screenwriter who worked mostly in the British film and television industry.
He attended Penn Military Academy where he played football. He was married to Laila Stranahan [1923-2006]. They were married in 1945 and they had a son Reed R. de Rouen Jr. who was born in 1946 and is now deceased. Later Reed and Laila divorced, and he married Claire Aplhandéry [195?- ] and they had a daughter Robin de Rouen who was born in 1955.
As an actor and writer, he was known for ‘The Avengers’ (1961-1969) and “John Paul Jones” (1959). He appeared in the ‘Doctor Who’ serial ‘The Gunfighters’ in 1966 as Pa Clanton, as well as writing the script for the proposed Doctor Who story ‘The Spare Part People’ with Jon Pertwee.
He continued his acting career into the early 1970s.
Reed died in Kensington, London, England on June 11, 1986, one day after turning 69 years of age.
