Little Known Spaghetti Western Actors ~ Umberto Aquilino

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Umberto Aquilino was a native of Naples, Campania, Italy to Luigi Aquilino and Emma Pondrelli. He graduated from a technical school before drifting into acting in the late 1940s. Besides films he also worked in theater, radio, television and was a voice actor and dubber. According to the IMDb he appeared in 14 films from 1951 to 1974. Aquilino appeared in one Euro-western as José in 1951’s “The Dream of Zorro”. Umberto appeared in the 1967 ‘Totò Ciak!’ television film and may have appeared in an uncredited role in the episode of ‘Toto contro Ringo’.

The picture I’ve posted was from 1956. Michael Ferguson found a death record for an Umberto Aquilino that matches our man. He died in London, England on March 22, 1981.

  1. Seeing as how there are two question marks after the number 19 I assume we don't know the year of his birth but I can guess that he was born in 1909 making him either 81 or 82 years old when he died. My guess is that his birthday is either April 9th or October 5th of 1909 and he was born in Naples. Hope that helps out a bit. Thanks.
