We continue our search for filming locations for “The Mercenary”. Sergei, now leading Paco’s army crosses the desert with the men and halts the troops to take a shower because it’s warm. He has the men empty their canteens into a barrel and then has two of the men hoist it over his head. He shoot several bullet holes into the bottom of the barrel and washes himself. Paco Columba and the rest of the men stand and watch in disgust.
This scene was filmed in the sand dunes of Parco Naturale di
Cabo de Gata in Nigar,Spain. This is the same desert seen in Sergio Leone’s
(1966) “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”.
