Peter Boom was born in Bloemendaal, Noord-Holland, Netherlands on March 31, 1936. He came to Italy in 1956 to study his great passion, singing and acting. Thanks to Polyglot he becomes an actor, singer, voice actor and writer in: Dutch , Italian , English , German and French. At the age of 23 he discovers his homosexuality.
Among the most famous films in which he starred we find “We Have to Cry” by Massimo Troisi and Roberto Benigni, in which he played the part of the preacher who said to Troisi the phrase "Remember you must die" and Habemus Papam by Nanni Moretti. During his career he had the opportunity to work with Sophia Loren, Nino Manfredi, Mel Ferrer, Burt Lancaster, Joseph Cotten and Erland Josephson. He also participated in numerous commercials. He lent his acting voice, both in some radio plays, and operas, for Rai and for the Opera di Roma .
Peter wrote lyrics and performed songs written by Armando Trovajoli, Luis Bacalov, Ennio Morricone, Bruno Nicolai, Marcello Giombini and others. He has sung for many movie soundtracks and recorded several albums and singles.
As a writer he produced numerous reviews and articles, as well as two books: the detective novel Vendetta al curare, for the series The Complicated Cases of Commissioner van der Bilt , published by Carlo Mancosu; and the book, 2020, the New Messiah , published for the Editions of the BIG of Rieti .
Boom died on May 26, 2011 in Barnaia, Italy at the age of 75 of a heart attack.
