His soul is as dark as the black gold - and his heart as cold as the lonely mountain lake in which he lets his victims disappear: The elegant profiteer Grinley, whom they call the "Oil Prince" in the West, is not only a savvy businessman, but also a ruthless fraudster and murderer. He and his brother Butler want to make big money with an alleged oil well at Gloomy Water, but three men get in their way: Apache chief Winnetou, his white blood brother Old Shatterhand and the bizarre Sam Hawkens. They have to bring peace between two warring Indian tribes and ensure that a German wagon train with the resolute leader Rosalie Ebersbach does not get caught between the two waring tribes. And then there is the aesthetically pleasing cantor Hampel.
