We continue our search for filming locations for “Run, Man, Run”. Now dark, the printers load the press onto a wagon, cover it with a tarp and drive it out of town. Penny arrives behind the print shop as promised in a buckboard and calls of for Cuchillo but Cassidy appears from the shadows instead. He tells her Cuchillo is staying and to leave. Mayor Bannington drives by in a covered wagon and tells his daughter to follow him. Her plans, now ruined, she whips the horses into a dead run and leaves. As the last wagon leaves town Cuchillo changes out of his American outfit and replaces them with his peon clothes. The printers are stopped at the edge of town and their wagon inspected. Suddenly Dolores appears with Riza’s henchmen. Cassidy explains to Cuchillo his plan to ambush Riza’s gang. Cuchillo goes to the general store and finds a drawer full of knoves. He exclaims, “Madre Mia!” He returns to his post only to see Cassidy gone. He cries out for him and calls him a coward. He begins to pray to the Virgin of Guadalupe when he hears horses hooves coming into town. Riza is wary and suddenly two of his men are cut down by knives. The two French spies split to look for the gold. They go to the print shop and find a new printing press and guess the old one contains the gold and quickly leave. Cuchillo kills several more of Riza’s men until Riza brings out Dolores and threatens to kill her unless he puts down his knives and comes out. Dolores tells him to run away. Cuchillo puts down his knives and comes out of the shadows. Riza laughs and asks if Cassidy has deserted him. Cuchillo says he’s miles away and has taken the gold. Suddenly Cassidy’s voice is heard telling Riza he’s still there with a rifle pointed at his back. Riza turns to shoot and Cassidy shoots him down. Dolores and Cuchillo run down the boardwalk shooting and throwing knives at the remaining henchmen. Cuchillo and Dolores mount two horses and ride for the wagon.
This scene was filmed at the Elios western set at night so the action is hard to see.
