New Touch: Brigitte To Sing, Dance [archived newspaper article]

“Alcoa Preview,” ABC-TV’s series of specials which previews outstanding events in the world of entertainment, will present a singing and dancing Brigitte Bardot, as she prepares for her American debut of “Viva Maria,” on Sunday, March 14 (7:30-8:30 p.m. EST).

The “Viva Maria” segment will be telecast in color by the five ABC-owned TV stations.

With Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. as “master of entertainment,’ “Alcoa Preview” will “capture” the French sex-kitten on location in Mexico, during rehearsals, in casual moments on the set and in actual musical and romantic scenes from the movie. In her scenes from the upcoming movie Brigitte will be seen as a strolling music hall player who invents the strip tease, gets involved in a revolution and falls in love with American star George Hamilton.

Another featured segment on this second show of the series will transport telewatchers backstage on Broadway for a look at the versatile young British musical comedy star Tommy Steele. Tommy will be seen as he prepares for his American debut in the hit London musical, “Half a Sixpence.”

The third segment of the show will present the story behind “The Emergence of a Stat.” It will star Miss Virni Lisi, currently costarring opposite Jack Lemmon in her first American movie, “How to Murder Your Wife.” The Italian beauty will be “followed” from the time she was discovered last year in Rome until he New York premiere.
