Denver John Collins was born in Denver, Colorado
on January 25, 1950. He was the son of musician Charles Thomas Collins and the
brother of singer Judy Collins. He made his film debut in 1970’s ‘Doc’ with
Stacy Keach and Faye Dunaway in the role of Billy Clanton aka ‘The Kid’. After
this film he decided his talents were better served on the opposite side of the
camera. He then traveled the world filming for the Peace Corps. He also was a
director and cinematographer and made several music videos for such singers as George Strait,
Dolly Parton and Vince Gil. He was the director of photography on sister Judy’s
PBS Specials
Denver John Collins died of cancer on February 7, 2016. He
was 66 years-old.
