Spaghetti Western Trivia ~ Gordon Mitchell’s Cave Studio

Gordon Mitchell appeared in several Demofilo Fidani films, and in “Giù la testa... Hombre!” was filmed mostly at the Cave Film Studio, a Western set Mitchell had built on property he won in a lawsuit over not being paid for his participation in a previous western film. Gordon was forced to sell the property when he left Italy and returned to the United States as another lawsuit declared foreigners could not own property in Italy.

  1. “One Damned Day ant Dawn, Django Meets Sartana” was NOT filmed at the Cave Film Studio. It was filmed in Cinecittà's western town.
The picture of this post is, in fact, a picture of the Cave Film Studio and these Fidani's westerns were shot there:
    "Era Sam Wallash..."
    "Giù la testa... Hombre!"
"Per una bara piena di dollari"
"Amico mio, frega tu che frego io"
