In an interview with Guy Madison by Westerns…All’Italiana! fanzine founder Tim Ferrante. Guy told Tim
he and Edd Byrnes didn’t get along well during the filming of “Payment in
Blood”. Although Edd was at one time an acrobat which he put to good use during
the filming of “Any Gun Can Play”, he and Guy had a problem during fight
scenes. Byrnes had a problem with pulling his punches and Madison came away
from various scenes with bumps and bruises. Maybe that’s where the American
title came from, as it was originally entitled “Seven Winchesters for a
Massacre” and then “Blake’s Marauders” and “Renegade Riders” were applied to
the film in video releases.
