The beginnings of Eastwood speak of destiny and the
unexpected places where it can hide. In
1964, an unknown actor from California accepts the proposal of an Italian film
director to make a western with locations in Spain. When seeing his actor for the first time,
Sergio Leone knew that he was the ideal one.
Today's unquestionable North American icon had appeared for several
years in a television series and had been rejected by the big studios. Eastwood took over the strange protagonist of
“For a Fistful of Dollars” after several others rejected the project because of
the quality of the script or due to economic conditions. The filming, carried out between spring and
summer, was peppered with problems and defaults, but only a few months later
the film was released in Italy and from the outset became a great success. In 1965 and 1966, the actor returned to make
two more films with Leone. His fate had
changed: "After the westerns I made in Spain I suddenly became Clint
Eastwood." This is the story and the origin of his legend.
