Irene Garcés discusses in this Spanish documentary 'Almería: Film district' the province's efforts to recover its glorious cinematographic past.

Once upon a time in Almeria, David Lean enriched the epic of blockbusters with 'Lawrence of Arabia' and Sergio Leone cemented his unique genius as the author of 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.' Once Upon a Time in Almeria shows that icons such as Brigitte Bardot, Sean Connery, Claudia Cardinale and Charlton Heston helped forge this land of sun, desert and sea into the dominating force of 'European Hollywood'. But one day those dreams became lost like tears in the rain, that would say the replicant Roy of 'Blade Runner', and although Almería continues being a place for filming not so much of cinema and television but of commercials and videoclips - nothing has returned to be as it was before.
