
Among his best known films include “Julia, Du bist zauberhaft” and “Das schwarz-weiß-rote Himmelbett” (both 1962), and “Das große Liebesspiel” (1963). Fritch appeared in two Euro-westerns: “The Last Ride to Santa Cruz” (1963) as Carlos and “The Legend of a Gunfighter” (1964) as Chris Harper. He was also the German voice of Eli Wallach on a German DVD release of “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”.
Also known as a pop singer, he peaked in the 1960s as a teen idol and was featured several times on the cover of teen magazine Bravo. Several times he collaborated with his friend singer-songwriter Suzanne Doucet.
In later years, he distinguished himself more and more as a serious stage actor, and as a radio announcer. Since 2002, he has been the narrator for the radio drama series ‘Die drei Fragezeichen’. He spoke in front of 12,000 spectators in this role at a live performance “Superpapagei 2004”. He can also be heard as a voice actor in computer games and cartoons such as ‘Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer’. Since 2008 he has appeared in the ZDF television series ‘Meine wunderbare Familie’ in the role of Peter Engelmann.
