Parallel to his work with the stage Rachold appeared in various film and television productions for DEFA and on television with the GDR. His film debut was in 1956 in the Rachold János Veiczis film “Zwischenfall in Benderath” (Incident at Benderath), followed by numerous other films and film genres, including four DEFA Indian films: “The Sons of Great Bear” (1966), “Osceola” (1971), “Uzana” (1974) and “The Long Ride to School” (1981) as well as children films, mainly under the direction of Rolf Losansky.
