Sara Franchetti was born Sara Girgenti on May 15, 1946 in Rome, Italy. She is the daughter of actress Rina Franchetti [1907-2010]. Sara was first a model and took dance and piano lessons before becoming first a stage and then a film actress. Her first film appearance was as Teresa the girlfriend of Alberto Sordi in 1969's "Il medico della mutua" directed by Luigi Zampa. She then appeared in the TV film "The Life of Leonardo da Vinci" (1971) directed by Renato Castellani. Sara appeared in a few more films in the 1980s including her only Euro-western "Buddy Goes West" (1981) with Bud Spencer before moving to television where she has shown up in Terence Hill’s "Don Mateo" and "Butta la luna". Today we celebrate Sara Franchetti’s 65th birthday.
