Remembering Lang Jeffries

Born William Loppin on June 7, 1930 in Ontario, Canada. Before he was 21 he had moved to Michigan and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. During the battle of Inchon in 1952 he was one of only three survivors of his 177 man unit during their mass landing led by General Douglas MacArthur. Returning to the U.S. after the conclusion of the war he became and actor using the name Lang Jeffrries and appeared in the TV series “Rescue 8” (1958-1960) starring Jim Davis. He married actrss Rhonda Fleming in 1960 but the couple divorced in 1962. At this time he moved to Europe and starred in 20 films including his only Euro-western “Duel in the Eclipse” in 1958. Who can forget his leopard skin pancho. Lang returned to the U.S. and became a real estate broker. Lang passed away from cancer on February 12, 1987 in Huntington Beach, California.

  1. Lang was a great guy. I knew him in the late '70s when he managed an art gallery in Huntington Beach, California. His wife Mary taught painting courses and I took lessons there for two years. Lang was an irreverent host at the gallery where he could be the smooth salesmen, the sardonic critic or the cut-up clown in a flash. He is missed.

  2. Lang was married to a beautiful woman.Mary Jeffries is a fine art artist,and now lives in Laguna Beach .They were a great couple and a lot of fun to know..Lang was married three times. Ronda Flemming, Abagail Getty and Mary Silvers Jeffries.He could always make you laught.
