Little Known Spaghetti Western Actors ~ José Antonio Amor

 [These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

José Antonio Amor is a Spanish film and television. He studied Economic Science at Complutense University of Madrid. Amor appeared in only 9 film and television appearances between 1965 and 1973. Some of his better-known films are “El juego de la oca in 1965, directed by Manuel Summers, and in “Timanfaya” (Amor prohibido) in 1972, directed by José Antonio de la Loma. His only Spaghetti western role was as Jerry in “The Buzzards and Crows Will Dig Your Grave” in 1971

Last Saturday, Carlos Alfonso Quiney Lodos, a Canarian film actor who was known in the trade as Charles Quiney, died in Las Palmas de Grand Canaries. He achieved his greatest fame in Italian cinema and also in Spanish, with Western movies shot in Almería in the 1970s.

His most famous movies were; Ivanna (1970), Plomo sobre Dallas (1970), Rebeldes de Arizona (1970), Robin Hood el arquero invencible (1970), Consigna: matar al commandante en jefe (1969), El Zorro de Monterrey (1969), El Zorro, caballero de la justicia (1968), El Tigre de Kyber (1970) La ultima aventura del Zorro (1969), La muerte busca un hombre (1971), La rebelion de los muertos (1973), El corsario (1972), Botin sangriento (1969), El pistolero de oro (1973), El ultimo tren a Siberia (1973), El contrabandista de la paz (1971), Marco Polo (1972), Tarzan en peligro (1971), Cuatro desertores (1970), No le budques tres pies al gato (1972), a total of thirty films that made up his filmography.

In El Canon de Aguila, by San Bartolome de Trajana, he worked in the film Demasiado sucio para el diablo (1972). Charles Quiney was known among his peers and filmmakers as the first Zorro and the first Spanish Robin Hood, Jose Luis Merino and Jose Maria Zabalza, regular directors of Western movies, regularly counted on his services. He worked with notable actors of the time, coinciding with Javier de Rivera, also from the Canary Islands (the Spaniard who appeared in the most silent films) and Santiago Rivero in La muerte busca un hombre. Before dedicating himself to the world of cinema, he worked in plays, such as La huellla by Anthony Shaffer, at the Perez Galdos, Charles Quiney was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on June 11, 1937. Spaghetti Western Locations - “Bad Man’s River”

 We continue our search for locations for “Bad Man’s River”. Bomba and the boys ride to the river where the Ariel Steamboat is to pick them up. Alicia commandeered the boat.

The steamship Ariel is an obvious model boat as you never see anyone moving on board the outside of the ship.

RIP Sylvain Lemarié

 

French voice actor and dubber Sylvain Lemarié died in France on April 20, 2023. He was 71 years old. One of France’s veteran voice actors and dubbbers he had a 50-year career working in films, TV, video games and animation. He was born in France on September 2, 1952. His only Euro-western was as the French voice of the chef in 1994’s “Asterix in America”.

Little Known Spaghetti Western Actors ~ Juan Amigo

Juan Antonio Amigo was a Spanish film and TV actor using the name Juan Amigo. Never a leading actor still he was a good looking guy who appeared in over 30 film and television programs between 1962 and 1979. Two of his films were Spaghetti westerns with an actual credited character of George Dekovan/Di Koven/Cogan depending on which release you have for 1972’s “Tequila” starring Anthony Steffen. His other appearance was in 1973’s “The 3 Musketeers of the West” starring Timothy Brent and George Eastman.
