As we know most of
the Euro-westerns were co-productions from Italy, Spain, Germany and France
which incorporated British and American actors to gain a worldwide audience.
The films distribution. That means Italian, Spanish, German, French and English
voice actors were hired to dub the films. Even actors from the countries where
the film was to be shown were often dubbed by voice actors for various reasons
such as the actors were already busy making another film, they wanted to paid
additional salaries for dubbing their voices, the actor’s voice didn’t fit the
character they were playing, accidents to the actors and in some cases even
death before the film could be dubbed.
I’ll list a
Euro-western and the (I) Italian, (S) Spanish, (G) German and (F) French, (E)
English voices that I can find and once in a while a bio on
a specific voice actor as in Europe these actors are as well-known as the
actors they voiced.

Jean-Pierre Duclos [1931-2019]
Jean-Pierre Duclos was born on
October 2, 1931 in Switzerland. After classical studies at the College of Geneva,
he enrolled at the Conservatory. In 1951, he left to try his luck in
Paris. He then followed the drama lessons of René Simon and those of
Marianne Stein from the Max Reinhardt school. Like many actors, he began
his career on the stage. In 1953, he created Dona Rosita de
Lorca with Silvia Montfort and Cercle de chalie de
Klabund.
His first
dubbing is, in July 1954, for the film Carnival Story with
Anne Baxter where he lends his voice to actor Lyle Bettger.
From this
recording session, Jean-Pierre Duclos remembers: “For over a year, I took part
in practice sessions, but without success. The voices chosen were always
the same. For Carnival Story , I was ultimately
chosen by the Kikoïne brothers. I don't have a very good memory of this
film because when you start out, you are clumsy and I could sense the annoyance
of the “old guys” when I had to redo a take by my fault. This is why, in
memory of those difficult beginnings, I have always helped young people who are
starting out by doing something wrong on purpose in the text, in order to give
them time to rehearse. "
From
1954, Jean-Pierre Duclos will play, on the boards, many Classics. He will
tour the Antilles with the Comédie de Paris, play in festivals (Nimes, La
Bourboule, Sarlat ...), spend a few seasons at TNP Jean Vilar ... He also
performs Dramas for Radio Suisse Romande and Radio Genève and, at the same
time, he is playmaker at Europe N ° 1 and RTL. In 1955, he filmed
in Si Paris nous n'est conté by
Sacha Guitry and in April 1956, he began filming Mannequins de Paris for
André Hunebelle . In 1957, he reunited with Guitry
for Assassins and Thieves . Duclos is
the French voice of such actors as Sean Connery, Tom Selleck, Christopher Lloyd he died in Paris on May 24, 2019
