Holger Eckert was a German actor known for his supporting and character roles in East German DEFA films and television productions from the 1960s to the early 1980s. He appeared in several notable DEFA productions, contributing to the cinematic output of the German Democratic Republic during its later decades.
Born on November 2, 1903, in Schneidemühl, Prussia, Germany, Eckert pursued an acting career that focused primarily on smaller but memorable parts in feature films and television series. Among his roles are the fairy-tale film ''Three Wishes for Cinderella'' (1973), as Zeremonienmeister, the Western ''Ulzana'' (1974), ''Anton der Zauberer'' (1978), and episodes of the spy series 'Das unsichtbare Visier'’ (1973).
Eckert's career reflected the style of East German genre cinema, including fairy tales, historical dramas, and thriller elements, though he remained in supporting capacities throughout his professional life. He died on May 17, 1993, in Potsdam, Germany at the age of 89.
As mentioned above Holger Eckert appeared in one Euro-western, “Ulzana” as Cayrol in 1973.
