How the cult film was created - a look behind the scenes of the filming.

With "The Treasure in Silver Lake" launched in 1962 one of the most successful film series in German cinema history. The adventures of Karl May's heroes Winnetou and Old Shatterhand thrilled millions of moviegoers and generations of readers. The popularity of these films is still unbroken.

The Berlin Rialto Film, which produced the "Schatz im Silbersee", opened its photo archive for the first time. Here were hundreds of pictures that provide a detailed insight into how this cult film was created. This illustrated book takes you behind the scenes and shows actors and the shooting team at work in the former Yugoslavia.

In the case of cinematographic films, their genesis is documented from the outset by their own camera teams, and this is used in advertising as well as bonus material for marketing on storage media.

With the photos of set photographer Gerd-Victor Krau, this is now possible in a similar form for the first time for a film that reached cult status not only in Germany: "The Treasure in Silver Lake".

Spaghetti Western Location ~ Las Salinas (Part 2)

In 1968 a short distance from the Mexicn set they built an American type set, which appears in "Kill Them All and Return Alone" (1968); "The Wrath of God" (1968); "Boot Hill" (1968); "Sabata" (1969); "Adios, Sabata" (1970); "A Man Called Sledge" (1970) and "Chato’s Land" (1971) (some buildings of the set are used to represent a ranch). Of the two sets, many remains can still be found littering the ground: fragments of plasterboard and stucco, pieces of wood, canes and reeds. In the film "A Sky Full of Stars for a Roof" (1968) in a riding scene by Giuliano Gemma and Mario Adorf, was shot in a very long field in the lower part of Las Salinas, dominated by a characteristic pyramidal shaped hill. It also shows up in “The White, the Yellow the Black”. Sometimes in the background a white building is seen which is a service station at the junction between the road that goes towards Tabernas and the super highway that leads to the province of Granada.
