Following the Indian, in addition to Carranza and his gang, are two adventurers: Johnny and Owl. Luck seems to be favor the two adventurers, who track down Copper Face and get their hands on the treasure. The arrival of Carranza, however, forces them to leave the boxes of gold in the hands of bandits. Rather than surrender in the face of the superior numbers of the outlaws, Johnny and Owl are carry out a diabolical plan that allows them to wipe out the bandits and recover the gold. At this point, Owl, rather than sharing with Johnny the proceeds of the partnership, leaves with the four boxes and delivers them to the Sheriff of El Paso, thereby resulting in the release of his brother who was unjustly accused of complicity in the robbery. Johnny arrives in El Paso to avenge the insult by Owl, but willingly surrenders for his action, and the pair accept ten thousand dollars given by the bank as a reward for the recovery of gold.

Spaghetti Western Locations
Continuing with locations from “Once Upon a Time in the West”. After the confrontation at the Cattle Corner station the scene switches to the McBain ranch where food is being prepared and set out for a party. The large ranch house was designed and built by Carlo Simi. The logs used in the construction were the remains from the Orson Welles production of “Chimes at Midnight” (1965). The family scene is interrupted by shots and Brett, Maureen and Daniel McBain are murdered. A terrified Timmy McBain runs out the front door but is frozen in fear as five gunmen approach.
“What are we gonna do with this one, Frank?”
“Now that you’ve called me by name.”
Today the location is called “Western Leone” and is a tourist attraction. Buildings have been added to simulate a western town which ruins the atmosphere. The ranch house itself is a bar and is filled with western film photos (many American films which were never shot in Spain). “Western Leone” is north of Mini Hollywood on the same expressway. Look for the billboards and you won’t get lost. Exit the N-340 road between Almeria and Sorbas. Stunt shows are performed and you can stay as long as you want. Look to the north of the site and you’ll be able to see the remains of the El Condor fort lying in rubble about a half mile away.

Remembering Chuck Connors
Kevin Joseph Aloysius Connors was born on April 10, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York. The athletic Connors became a professional basketball and baseball player with the Boston Celtics [1946] and The Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers [1949-1950], Chicago Cubs [1951]. Knowing he could not make a living as a ball player he turned to acting and appeared in his first film “Pat and Mike” (1952) starring Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. In 1953 he appeared with Burt Lancaster in “South Sea Woman”. In 1957 he starred in “Old Yeller” and “The Hired Gun” and had a co-starring role in “The Big Country” (1958). Fame came to Connors when he starred as Lucas McCain on TV’s “The Rifleman” from 1958-1963 and followed that up with his role as Jason McCord in “Branded” (1965-1966). Connors continued to appear in films and television until his death on November 10, 1992 at the age of 71. Chuck appeared in five Euro-westerns “Kill Them All and Return Alone” (1968), “The Deserter” (1971) “The Proud and the Damned” and “Pancho Villa” both in 1972 and “Garden of Venus” (1981). Today we remember Chuck Connors on what would have been his 90th birthday.

Following the Footsteps of Winnetou
You are invited to the annual fan meeting of the Karl May films!
Crystal blue lake in the national park Plitvičcka Jezera and the breathtaking cliffs of Paklenica National Park, beautiful waterfalls in Krka National Park, mystical mountain tops that rise above the river Zrmanja’s, the canyon in Velebit’s Nature Park, surrounding the area of Benkovac and Raštevićc, the rivers Cetina and Radman’s, water mills, and the area surrounding the town of Vrlika… there are rarely so many diverse natural beauties in one place in the world as there are in the small country of Croatia.
So it is of no surprise that in the 1960’s these exact locations were chosen for the making of the movies about the Indian chief Winnetou, written by the famous German writer Karl May. The locations preserved their beauty as they were in their original structure and they represent the most stunning landscapes of our beautiful country. These locations were used, and still are in use, for making many Croatian and foreign films.
In this week you will have the chance to meet the Winnetou film crew members (character actors, stuntmen, etc.) and you will be able to go horseback riding and shoot bows and arrows. For you, we have prepared a dinner in nature with a camp fire, barbeque and country music.
You will be accompanied through the entire excursion program by guides that know perfectly the locations where the films were made
We are awaiting the confirmation of our honorary guest for "Winnetou Days 2011", Maria Versini, who played Winnetou's sister in the film.

It’s 1850 and to the regret of some of its citizens, the state of California is a now a part of the United States. The small town of Harriba Lannan is headed by a new governor, a man without scruples, surrounded by a group of ruthless men who kidnap girls and put them in a local brothel, the Golden Saloon. At this point, Richard Black intervenes. His daughter, Molly tells him that one day while walking in the countryside, she was brutally attacked and taken off with other girls, the Golden Saloon. Richard and his group of volunteers dress up as a woman and all are kidnapped to be taken to the Golden Saloon. Arriving there, Richard frees the girls. During a celebration feast, girls show their gratitude to Richard the only way they know how.
