Who Are Those Singers & Musicians ~ Annibale

Back on January 21, 2024, I posted a “Who Are Those Singers & Musicians” article on Annibale stating this was an alias for the singer David King and then giving a biography on a British singer. I found out recently that was mostly incorrect, and I have since deleted the post.

I stated Annibale was an alias for singer David King. Well Annibale, David King, Gino Ginetti and Gianpiero Muratti are all aliases used by an Italian singer whose real name is Annibale Giannarelli and who was born in Sassalbo, Tuscany, Italy on May 9, 1948. He is a singer and musician (piano) and sang with Alessandro Alessandroni’s I Cantori Moderni”. Since his career as a singer and instrumentalist began in the 1960’s, Annibale Giannarelli has performed in major venues and on television throughout Australia and Italy. Accompanying himself on keyboard and accordion, Annibale’s vocal talents are outstanding in songs ranging from Italian traditional and pop music to jazz standards and classic hits.

Annibale recorded three solo albums released by EMI, RCA and Seven Records as well as soundtracks for the feature films such as ‘They Call Me Trinity’ by Franco Micalizzi and ‘Paolo and Francesca’ by Ennio Morricone.

Annibale has appeared as a regular performer on television shows including Channel Nine’s ‘Tonight with Daryl Somers’ and ‘The Ugly Dave Gray Show’ and on Channel Seven’s ‘The Tonight Show’ with John Laws. He has also performed in duets with Colleen Hewitt, and as a child on national television on the ‘Tarax Show’ and The Swallows Juniors as national winner in 1962. He has also entertained as a regular in major nightclubs of Sydney and as resident singer-pianist in five-star hotels in Melbourne Australia.

He is still active and recently appeared at a Terence birthday celebration.

Annibale sang songs in three Spaghetti westerns including: “Lo chiamavano Trinità...” (They Call Me Trinity”, “Sei iellato, amico hai incontrato Sacramento” (You’re Jinxed Friend, You’ve Met Sacramento) both in 1970 and “Padella calibro 38” (Panhandle 38).
