Siegfried
Kilian was born on November 6, 1928 in Berlin, Germany. After receiving
training as an actor, Kilian’s first stage experience was on various German
stages, before a 1958 engagement at the Berliner Ensemble which was well
received. He held a position with the company for 25 years. In addition to his
work in theater he also worked in film and television productions of the DEFA
and since 1956 on DFF television making over 45 appearances, as well as a voice
actor for such actors as Yury Yakovlev in “Anna Karenina” (1967). Kilian
appeared in one Euro-western: “Kit & Co.” (1974) in the role of Louis
Gastell opposite Dean Reed.
Siegfried died in East Berlin, East Germany on September 27, 1983.
Today we remember Siegfried Kilian on what would have been his 85th birthday.
