James Arthur Neske was born in Port Angeles, Washington on April 9, 1942. He formed a band in 1958 called the Moonlight Marauders. The band performed regularly in the area for over four years but in19'62 he set his sights on a solo career. Moving to New York, James decided to perform under a stage name. Intrigued by the character, 'Chance Wayne' in the Tennessee Williams film, “Sweet Bird of Youth”, Neske came up with CHANCE EDEN. His voice was a cross between Roy Orbison and Ray Peterson. He released half a dozen singles but never managed to reach Billboard's Hot 100. Eventually tiring of the music business, Eden moved his family back to the northwest to settle in Sudden Valley, Washington where he became quite successful in real estate.
Sadly, on January 7, 1992, at the young age of 49, James Arthur Neske passed away after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.
Chance Eden recorded the English language main theme song for the English language release of the 1964 Czechoslovakian Euro-western “Lemonade Joe”.
