Little Known Spaghetti Western actors ~ Mario Dardanelli

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

 Another Italian character actor we know virtually nothing about. He was born in Novara, Italy on September 6, 1918, and appeared in over 35 films between 1962 and 1983. He was also a production manager on one film “C'era una volta un gangster” in 1969. Other than this basic information I can find no biographical information on him.

Mario appeared in thirty-three Spaghetti westerns. Because of his rough looking appearance, he was usually cast as gang members and henchman, saloon patrons and townsmen.

Cercati un posto per morire” (Find a Place to Die) as Chato, “Un buco in fronte” (A Hole in the Forehead) as Epifani and “Il pisotlero segnato de Dio” (Two Pistols and a Coward) as a man at trading post all in 1968. “Manos torpes” (When Satan Grips the Colt) as Sam in 1969. “La Belva” (The Beast) as a Macheter bandit, “Gli fumavano le colt…lo chiamavano Camposanto” (Bullet for a Stranger) as a Toland assassin, “Inginocchiati straniero… i cadaveri non fanno ombra!” (Dead Men Don’t Make Shadows) as Enriquez, “Arrivano Django e Sartana… è la fine” (Django and Sartana are Coming… It’s the End) as a Keller henchman, “Buon funerale amigos... paga Sartana” (Have a Nice Funeral My Friend) as a Hoffman henchman and “Prega il morto e ammazza il vio” (Shoot the Living, Pray for the Dead) as Ramon all in 1970. “Il mio nome è Mallory... M come morte” (Mallory Must Not Die) as Pat Jefferson, “W Django!” (A Man Called Django) as John, “Il venditore di morte” (The Price of Death) as an auction attendee, “È tornato Sabata... hai chiuso un'altra volta” (Return od Sabata) as a townsman, “Lo sceriffo di Rockspring” (The Sheriff of Rock Springs) as a saloon patron and “Allegri becchini... arriva Trinità” (They Called Him... Trinity: Himself – His Colt – His Revenge) as Danny Oliver all in 1971. “E poi lo chiamarono il Magnifico” (Man of the East) as a prisoner, “Sei bounty killers peruna strage” (Six Bounty Killers for a Massacre) as Martin/Marty and “Una Colt in mano del diavolo” (When the Devil Grips a Colt) as Sam Dayton all in 1972. “Partirono preti, tornarono... curati” (Hallelujah to Vera Cruz) as Miguel, “Sette monache a Kansas City” as Fatty/Bart, “Il figlio di Zorro” (Son of Zorro) as a French soldier all in 1973.
