Two brothers, in command of a group of bandits, decide to set up on their own and get rid of all their minions to divide the spoils of the robberies.

Filming of "The Cowards of Big Creek" is underway in Pietrastornina, in the province of Avellino, as part of the "Spaghetti Western Pietrastornina".

The short film, produced by the association of the same name, directed by Gaetano Cucciardi, subject and screenplay by Gianpaolo Gentile, will be premiered on 4 – 5 – 6 and 7 September 2025, on the occasion of the IV edition of the festival.

In collaboration with the "Riccardi" theater of Capua, "The Cowards of Big Creek" will be an opportunity to "make the voice" of "Spaghetti Western" heard nationally and internationally.

"With this product we want to make our reality and our ideas known to the many fans of auteur cinema around the world," comments the president of the association Fulvio Urciuolo. And in fact, starting this year, the promoters of the Irpinia festival have announced the birth of a twinning with the Mequinenza International Film Festival.

The short film, the work of the Capuan theater troup, with the music of the "Ricciardi" Orchestra conducted by Maestro Domenico Rocco, will engage, for the most part, local men and women.

"Because it is thanks to the synergy between public and private, between institutions and individual citizens," continues Urciuolo, "that this event has been able, over the years, to expand its strength and credibility."

And perhaps, it is precisely the credibility and strength gained over the years that have convinced Lucio Ciotola to get involved in this new "Spaghetti Western" bet; in fact, "The Cowards of Big Creek" will be able to count on the friendly participation and experience of the Neapolitan actor.

In the meantime, preparations continue, and the first guest has already been announced for Thursday 4 September. In fact, it will be Nello Salza, trumpeter of Ennio Morricone but not only, to open this fourth edition. From "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso" to "Il postino", passing through "Life is beautiful", numerous works that have marked the world of cinema and that will live again.

The road to the West leads to Pietrastornina.
