José Enrique Martínez will talk about Sergio Leone at the Casa del Cine Cinema

 

Joined with films shot in Almería, he will share his experiences and anecdotes today.

José Enrique Martínez Moya will be offering a talk-colloquium titled "Wanted...Sergio Leone: Traces of an Innovative Western in Almería" tomorrow, Thursday, June 5th, at 7:00 p.m., at the Casa del Cine in Almería.

This will be a fascinating talk-colloquium exploring the mark Sergio Leone left on Almería and how he revolutionized the Western genre. José Enrique Martínez Moya will share his research and anecdotes about the acclaimed Italian director's filming in Almería. Admission is free with a reservation at laoficinacultural.org/enlaces. José Enrique Martínez Moya was born in Almería and grew up in the El Zapillo neighborhood. A retired teacher, he also studied French and Hispanic Philology until graduating, while continuing to pursue film research. The results of this research include Almería y el Cine (1992), Almería, a World of Film (1999), Riding into Adventure (2011), and Wanted... On the Trail of Sergio Leone (2018), in addition to countless articles and collaborations for other books and specific studies, as well as advice and collaborations with other authors and journalists.

He founded the CINEAL Association in 1993 and the Almería Western Club in 2014. He is a member of the Institute of Almería Studies, a short film director, film location expert, and lecturer. José Enrique is a true encyclopedia of films shot in Almería.
