On Sunday July 7the 2024 the new urban swimming pool in Amelia was opened and named after Bud Spencer. At the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Laura Pernazza was pleased with the support of Bud Spencer's children Cristiana and Giuseppe Pedersoli, as well as from Terence Hill.
Giuseppe said thank you for this great way to remember
his father and the everlasting bond of friendship with Terence Hill. Terence
Hill added that he admired Bud Spencer as a swimming champion as a child and
that the step from this admiration to a lifelong friendship was only a very
small one. Bishop Francesco Antonio Soddu, who sent his blessing saying,
"We grew up on bread and Terence Hill and Bud Spencer." Of course,
many fans were also present at the opening and took the opportunity to get
autographs and take photos with the stars.
