Happy 70th Birthday Ringo Starr

Richard Starkey was born on July 7, 1940 in Dingles, Liverpool, England. Better known as Ringo Starr he replaced Pete Best as the drummer for “The Beatles” in 1962. Ringo did some singing on such songs as “Yellow Submarine”, “”With a Little Help from My Friends” and “Act Naturally”. Ringo emerged as the most successful actor of the group appearing in several movies besides The Beatles films such as “Candy” (1968). “The Magic Christian” (1969), “Son of Dracula” (1974) and “Caveman” (1981). Among his film appearances was one Euro-western “Blindman” in 1971. On the musical side Ringo tours occassionally with Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band which are made up of stars from different bands. After a marriage to Maureen Cox which resulted in three children Starr married actress Barbara Bach in 1981. Ringo was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in February 2010. Today we celebrate Ringo Starr's 70th birthday.
