A gang of outlaws are terrorizing the ranchers of Blakestone Hill. Anyone who refuses to sell their land over to the outlaw gang are founded brutally murdered. Two young bounty hunters Johnny and Fred are enticed into pursuing the reward offered for the capture or killing of the gang. Rodgers a Blakestone Hill businessman is soon identified as the leader of the outlaws. The gang is rooted out through a number of maneuvers put forth by the two bounty hunters. A turn of events proves beneficial to Rodgers when he learns Johnny is actually the son of the widow Reed whom she apparently abandoned him at an early age.

Remembering Peer Raben

Wilhelm Rabenbauer was born on July 3, 1940 in Viechtach, Bavaria. Under the name Peer Raben he became a successful film composer best known for his collaboration with director Rainer Werner Fassbinder. In 1966, along with several others, founded the Action Theatre in Munich, which led to the Anti Theatre in 1968, where Peer was active as a writer, composer and director. In 1969 and 1970 he produced Fassbinder's first films. After working on his own film “Die Ahnfrau”, he began concntrating on composing for his own films and plays.

He directed three films: “Die Ahnfrau – Oratorium nach (1971), “Adele Spitzeder” (1972), and “Heute spielen wir den Boß (1981), for which he also composed the scores.

Raben composed scores for two Euro-westerns: Fassbinder's “Whity” (1971) and “Chetan, Indian Boy” (1972) directed by Hark Bohm. Peer died of cancer on January 21, 2007 in Mitterfels, Bavaria, Germany. Today we remember Peer Raben on what would have been his 70th birthday.

Who Are Those Gals? - Brigitte Auber

Brigitte Cahen de Labzac was born in Paris on April 27, 1928. As Brigitte Auber she's worked almost extensively in Europe. She's probably best known to American audiences for her appearance with Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock's 1955 film “To Catch a Thief”. She also made in the 1998 remake of “The Man in the Iron Mask” with Leonardo DiCaprio. Brigitte was responsible for recommending Alain Delon to director Yves Allégret who gave him his first film role. Auber has been making films since 1947 and her last film appearance was in the 2000 TV film “Oncle Paul”.

Happy 75th Birthday Ingeborg Schöner

Ingeborg Schöner was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on July 2, 1935. After he high school studies she spent 7 semesters stuydying philology before taking up acting. She actied in litttle theater and in comedies in Munich and Berlin. In the 1950s she was offered film contracts from Italy, France and the United States. She returned to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1954 and portrayed good girls. In interantional films she was used in adventure and historical films During the 1970s and '80s she active mostly on television such as the crime series SOKO 5113, initially as police commissioner Anna Herbst and later as the wife of Inspector Schickl Horst, played by Wilfried Klaus. She was married to director Georg Marischka [1922-1999] until his death. The couple had two daughters. Ingeborg appeared in one Euro-western “Legacy of the Incas” (1965) as Mrs. Ruiz directed by her then husband Georg Marischka. Today we celebrate Ingeborg Schöner's 75th birthday.

Tom, an old prospector, is being followed by Dick Logan and his henchmen. Tom arrives in Carson City and leaves a treasure map to his mine for his daughter before the outlaws catch up and kill him. Before he dies Tom tells Isabella to find his old friend Ben Walker and ask him for help. Ben promises Isabella that he will protect her and help her find the hidden mine. He assembles a band of old cronies and they battle the Logan gang all along the trail to the gold. In the end only Ben and Isabella are left alive and they share the wealth.

Happy 85th Birthday Farley Granger

Farley Earle Granger II was born on July 1, 1925 in San Jose, California. Farley's father owned a Willy's Overland dealership. After the stock market crash the Grangers became alcoholics and were forced to sell both of their homes and posessions. They moved to Los Angeles where Farley's father worked for the Unemployment Office. He became friends with Harry Langdon and a neigbor of Donald O'Connor. These friendships helped Farley get into showbusiness. Farley auditioned and was given a part in 1943's “The North Star” and signed to a seven year contract for $100.00 a week. He joined the Navy during World War II and after the war he returned to MGM. Farley was given a 1940 Ford Coupe and an increase in salary to $200.00 a week. His landing a part in Hitchcock's “The Rope” in 1948 was his breakthrough to leading roles. Granger acted in both films and stage during the 1950s. During the 1960s Farley dedicated his acting talents to the stage and moved to Italy in the early 1970s. While in Italy Granger appeared in two Euro-westerns: “They Call Me Trinity” (1970) as Major Harriman and “The Man Called Noon” (1973) as Judge Niland. In the 1990s Granger appeared in several documentaries and in 2007 released his memoir “Include Me Out”. Today we celebrate Farley Granger's 85th birthday.
