Boris Cavazza was born on February 2, 1939, in Milan, Lombardy, Italy. Borisov 's father was Italian, his mother Slovak. He moved to Slovenia in 1948. In 1956 he enrolled in the Naval School in Piran and after four years of schooling to become an engineer he graduated and from 1960 to 1963 worked first as an assistant and then as engineer officer on ships of the merchant navy. A year later, he enrolled at the Academy of Theatre in Ljubljana. Beginning in 1971 he worked as a professional actor; his acting career was launched on stage appearing in the Slovenian Youth Theatre and he is considered one of the most important Slovenian actors. Boris appeared in only one Euro-western “Ein Langer Ritt nach Eden” (A Long Ride to Eden) in 1971 as Slim O’Keefe. In 1987, he received the Prešern Award and in 1992 the Borštnik Ring. Boris was the winner of a Viktor Lifetime Achievement award in 2012
Boris was married to Mojca Sitar who died in 1991 and is the father of musician Kristjan Cavazza [1969-1991] twins actor Sebastian Cavazza [1973- ], actor and production designer Damijan Cavazza, [1973–2009], he married television host Oriana Girotto [1973- ] in 2001 and they had a son Aleksandar Boris Cavazza born in 2002. They divorced and Boris married musicologist, musician Xenia Benedetti (Xenia Mahne) [1965- ] in 2016.
Boris appeared in only one Euro-western as Slim O’Keefe in 1971’s erotic “Ein Langer Ritt nach Eden” (A Long Ride to Eden).
