European Western Comic Books - Avventure del West

Western Adventures

This comic book series was created by Rocco Molinari presumably in 1965 to be inserted into surprise envelopes. It re-proposes various materials, partly taken from previous editions always intended for the same circuit; stories originally published in Kid Colt (1959), Jumbo Comics (1950), Albi Ariete Grandi Avventure (1955) and Invincibili (1956). Among the characters are Audax (King of Royal Mounted) by Jim Gray, Kid Colt by Stan Lee, J. Keller, Doug Wildey and Al Williamson and The Hawk attributed to Willis Rensie, or Will Eisner (who had created the previous Hawks of the Seas, published in Italy as I Raiders of the Sea, but presumably written by Ruth Ann Roche and drawn by Robert Hayward Webb. Also, drawings by Leone Cimpellin and Onofrio Bramante. Announced, but not found, the #13 “Steve Porter, the Indian Agent”.

Images were drawn by Nestore Corti.

The series was published by MOL in Milan, monthly in 1965 with issue #1 published in January and ending with #12 in December of that year. Each issue contained 32 black and white pages with color covers.
