When Fraga became the stage for Spaghetti westerns [part 5 of 8]

 Between the years 1965 and 1972, two Catalan production companies made about seventy films of the spaghetti western genre in the West Bank. We’ll tell you about it.

Ten years and thirty films caused a stir in the rural environment of the inhabitants of Baix Cinca and the bordering villages of Segrià, due to the hiring of extras, people from the villages (farmers, day laborers, civil guards and gypsies) who were paid to dress up as a Mexican, an Indian or a gunman for a few hours a day. A bus loaded with extras left Lleida, and when it was observed that people from the cinema were moving to the Sorolla hotel, there were queues to sign up for a list that was usually between 20 and 50 required extras.
