Sideshow's Clint Eastwood Legacy Collection, which commemorates some of the actor's biggest roles, is available for pre-order on their website.
A handful of the most memorable characters in cinematic history were portrayed by Clint Eastwood. Over the years, the Western and action movie legend has contributed a great deal to the Hollywood industry both as a director and as an actor. And now, some of the most important characters in his career are being brought to life via a series of detailed figures from Sideshow Collectibles.
Thanks to a partnership with the actor himself, Sideshow Collectibles is producing the Clint Eastwood Legacy Collection, which consists of figures depicting a few of his most well-known characters. Each 1:6 figure represents an iconic movie hero played by Eastwood. In 2023, Sideshow plans to release figures of the Clint Eastwood characters from Dirty Harry, Pale Rider, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Last February, Screen Rant revealed the first images of the Dirty Harry figure. Now, fans of the actor and director can get a closer look at images of the three upcoming figures.
Releasing first is Dirty Harry, the protagonist of the 1971 classic of the same. In four action thrillers, Eastwood played Harry Callahan, the cold-blooded detective known for his ruthless approach to fighting crime. Measuring 12 inches tall and complete with his signature .44 magnum revolver, the figure shares the look sported by the character in the first Dirty Harry film. Like every figure in the collection, Dirty Harry is fully poseable and can be customized through removable clothing and accessories, such as his jacket.
Dirty Harry is without question one of Eastwood's two
most celebrated roles; the other is the Man With No Name, another character now
being imagined as a figure in Sideshow Collectibles' Clint Eastwood Legacy
Collection. Commonly referred to as the Man With No Name, the no-nonsense,
quick-shooting drifter is remembered as the character whose films launched
Eastwood to stardom and made him one of Hollywood's most popular "tough
guys."
Easily recognized by his trademark poncho, Eastwood's nameless gunslinger appeared in a trilogy of Spaghetti Westerns. Sideshow's figure uses his look from the third film, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
The third installment in the collection, shipping early this year, is a figure of a Clint Eastwood character called the Preacher. In 1985, the actor starred in Pale Rider as an aging pastor who turned out be an expert gunslinger with a mysterious past. As an older character, the Preacher represents a different era of Eastwood's acting career, but still captures the toughness and ferocity that tends to go hand-in-hand with the Hollywood star's movies.
On the subject of the Dirty Harry figure and the Clint Eastwood Legacy Collection as a whole, Sideshow creative director Tom Gilliland talked about the importance of Eastwood's characters and how their close partnership has helped in producing these figures.
