RIP Paul Naschy

Spanish Horror Film legend Paul Naschy lost his battle with cancer and died in a Madrid hospital today, December 1st. Born Jacinto Molina Alvarez on September 6, 1934 in Madrid, Spain his career began in the 1960s and he became famous for his characterization of the werewolf character Waldemar Daminsky. Naschy played the charater in 12 films. Naschy became a legend in Spanish Horror films playing hunchbacks, vampires and werewolves. He continued working as a producer, director and screenwriter until the end of his life. Naschy appeared in one Eurowestern under the name Jacinto Molina in 1966's “The Fury of Johnny Kid” with Peter Lee Lawrence.

  1. I'm saddened by this news. His films brought much enjoyment into my life over the years. He tells some interesting anecdotes about the making of his one western in his autobiography. I would like to see it someday.
