Continuing film locations for “Duck You Sucker”. During the execution scene the camera pans to show Mexican Federales in front of a large church in the plaza. This church is in the Placeta Santiago and directly across from the wall where the execution was filmed. This is where Don Bruce, Marla Johnson and I ate our box lunches the first day we explored the Leone locations in 2003. What a great place to stop for a few minutes, relax and realize you are surrounded by history and beauty. It was easy to imagine Leone’s film crew eating their lunches here during the filming of these scenes which probably took all-day, and knowing Leone’s reputation, probably two or three more.
