Franco Nero celebrated at the Ministry of Culture

 

On 22 September, the tribute to the actor for the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in the presence of Minister Alessandro Giuli and Undersecretary Lucia Borgonzoni

An official ceremony will take place on September 22 at the Ministry of Culture to celebrate the awarding of the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to Franco Nero. The meeting will be attended by the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, the Undersecretary Lucia Borgonzoni and the Emilian interpreter himself 

According to a press release, the initiative intends to enhance the artistic career of the actor from Parma, active on the scene for over six decades: "The event - explains a note - will be an opportunity to pay homage to one of the greatest interpreters of Italian cinema in the world, whose career has spanned over sixty years of history of the big screen".

Born in Parma in 1941, Nero made his debut on the set in the sixties, gaining global notoriety in 1966 thanks to the interpretation of the protagonist in Sergio Corbucci's Django, a fundamental work for the spaghetti western genre. During his professional career he has collaborated with prominent directors on the national and international scene, including Luchino Visconti, John Huston, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Claude Chabrol and Quentin Tarantino.

The institutional tribute intends to underline the link between Italian cinema and the overseas production circuit: "His figure has contributed in a decisive way to bringing Italian cinema to the Hollywood stages, and today he receives an award that celebrates his entire career.
