Spaghetti Western Director ~ Günter Hendel

Günter Hendel was a German actor, director, and screenwriter known for his work in erotic and exploitation films during the late 1960s and 1970s. Born on December 22, 1922, in Kolberg, Pomerania, Germany, Hendel pursued a career in the German film industry, initially as an actor before expanding into directing and writing. He often worked under the pseudonym Robert S. Gordon and is particularly associated with a series of adult-oriented comedies and dramas that characterized West German sexploitation cinema of the era.

Hendel directed and appeared in several notable titles, including “So viel nackte Zärtlichkeit” (1968), “Graf Porno und seine Mädchen” (1969), “Graf Porno und die liebesdurstigen Töchter” (1969), and “Ein langer Ritt nach Eden” (1971). His films typically featured explicit themes and were part of the prolific wave of erotic productions in Germany during that period. He remained active into the late 1970s before retiring from filmmaking.

Hendel died on January 16, 2018, in Munich, Bavaria, Germany at the age of 95.

As mentioned above Hendel directed one Euro-western, “Ein langer Ritt nach Eden” (A Long Ride from Eden) in 1971.

Massimo D'Avak is/was an Italian screenwriter. He wrote stories and screenplay for thirteen films between 1964 and 1975. I can find no biographical information on him.

Massimo D’Avack wrote screenplays for two Spaghetti westerns “Sledge” (A Man Called Sledge) with Vic Morrow and Frank Kowalski in 1970 and “

Sergio Martinelli is/was an Italian cinematographer and cameraman who worked on over 60 films between 1960 and 2021. Thirteen of those were as a cinematographer.

 Sergio Martinelli was a co-cinematographer and cameraman on one Spaghetti western “Due croci a Danger Pass” (Two Crosses at Danger Pass) with Emilio Foriscot in 1967. As a cameraman Sergio worked on “Per un pugno nell'occhio” (A Fistful of Knuckles) and “Adios Gringo” both in 1965, “Le colt cantarono le morte e fu tempo di massacre” (The Brute and the Beast) and “La più grande rapina del west” (The Greatest Robbery in the West) both in 1966, “Joe! Cercati un posto per morire” (Find a Place to Die) in 1968 “I quattro del pater noster” (In the Name of the Father), “E Dio disse a Caino…” (And God Said to Cain) both in 1969, and “L'oro dei bravado” (Chapaqua’s Gold), (Apocalypse Joe) in 1970, “Era Sam Wallash!... lo chiamavano...
